Two charged with drug-related offenses

PRYOR, OK — The courtroom was packed Monday afternoon for initial appearances.

The initial appearance docket consisted of both new felony and misdemeanor charges and outstanding warrants.

Desere Ramirez, Vinita, was among those appearing in court Monday. She is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of paraphernalia and failure to wear a seatbelt. Information filed in the case alleges she had both marijuana and a smoking pipe in her possession.

Ramirez has prior felony charges for possession of marijuana. Her bond was set at $10,000.

One of the last to be arraigned was Lucinda Vernnon, Salina, who is charged with two felony counts. Information in the case alleges she was stopped while driving down Frontier Street in Salina.

Information alleges she had morphine, a controlled dangerous substance, in her possession. She is also said to have been “knowingly and intentionally distributing morphine” from the location on Frontier Street, which is within 2,000 feet of Salina Elementary School. She appeared in court having already posted bond.

Her case was continued to March. 13.
