Annual Junior/Senior Day event for area high school students

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College will host an estimated 900 high school juniors and seniors during Destination NEO Day on Thursday, Feb. 7.  All area students, parents and high school counselors are invited to learn about NEO’s 43 academic programs, five residence halls and dozens of clubs and organizations.  Additionally, all in attendance will be able to investigate and enjoy the numerous changes and updates around campus.  Information regarding financial aid, scholarships, admissions, enrollment, and campus events will also be available.

There is no cost to attend Destination NEO Day, and all who participate will receive a free lunch and will be eligible for door prizes.

“Based on the success of last year’s event, Destination NEO Day will once again include participation by not only high school Seniors, but Juniors as well,” said Director of Student Recruitment Darin McDugle. “It’s an amazing feeling to be able to offer area high school students an opportunity to learn everything they need to know about NEO, from financial aid to athletics and everything in between, all in one location, in a single day.”

Destination NEO Day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with registration located in the lobby of the Student Activity Center. Students will have the opportunity to visit with faculty advisors and students from various academic departments.  NEO will also host a “Scholarship and Activity Fair,” during which prospective students can gather information about the clubs and organizations present on campus. In addition, NEO College Ambassadors will offer tours of the campus and its facilities.

McDugle said visiting a college campus is a golden opportunity to develop interest in higher education early in the student’s decision making process.

Pre-registration for Destination NEO Day is encouraged but not mandatory.  To pre-register or for questions regarding the event, call the Student Recruitment Office at

(918) 540-6291, or email neorecruitment@neo.edu.
