Adair 19th, Pryor 10th in initial fast-pitch polls

PRYOR, OK — Adair got revenge for a season-opening loss to Coweta Monday, slamming the Lady Tigers at Coweta 14-9.

Coweta defeated Adair 6-2 in the opening round of the Broken Arrow Tournament Aug. 16. The two teams will meet for a season series tiebreaker in Adair's home opener Saturday.

Adair defeated Chelsea 11-1 Tuesday to move to 3-4 overall. The Lady Warriors were ranked 19th in the initial 3A fast-pitch coaches' poll on OSSAArankings.com.

Adair will travel to Wyandotte for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch tonight, and will face Savanna and Poteau at the Rogers State Festival Friday.

Pryor celebrated its 10th overall ranking in the first 5A softball poll by improving to 3-3 and 1-0 in district play.

The Lady Tigers dropped Skiatook 8-6 at home Tuesday to move atop District 5A-3 with Tahlequah and Claremore. Pryor will head to Collinsville today and Grove Monday before hosting Claremore Tuesday. All three district games are slated to begin at 5 p.m.

Locust Grove collected its first win of the season, a 2-0 win over Kansas Monday. Miami stomped the Lady Pirates 12-0 Tuesday.

Locust Grove is set to play in the Tahlequah/NSU Tournament beginning today. The Lady Pirates will face Tahlequah, McAlester, Henryetta and Piedmont.

Chouteau will host Warner Friday at 4 p.m., while Salina is scheduled to play at Lincoln Christian today at 4:30 p.m.
