Sequoyah eliminates Lady Pirates

CLAREMORE, OK — Locust Grove's Lady Pirates lost a pair of games to No. 19 Claremore Sequoyah Thursday, dropping Locust out of playoff contention.

LG nearly stole the first game of a 3A district tourney from the Lady Eagles, holding Sequoyah to a single run. The Lady Pirates couldn't find any offense in either game, however, and Sequoyah took the first game of the doubleheader 1-0 before clobbering Locust in the late game, 12-0.

The Lady Pirates finished the season with a record of 10-26.

Sequoyah will advance to a four-team regional next week. The winner will move on to the state tournament.
