Softball: AHS sweeps Chelsea, advances to regional

ADAIR, OK — Adair wasted no time clinching its spot in a regional fast-pitch tournament next week, blasting Chelsea in back-to-back games Wednesday.

The Lady Warriors (23-9) shut the Lady Dragons out 9-0 in the district tournament opener and forged an 11-3 victory in the late game to advance to the second round of the postseason.

Adair, which also picked up an 11-1 win over Catoosa Sept. 24, will travel to Jay Saturday and Tahlequah Tuesday. Those games will have no bearing on postseason play for the Lady Warriors. Regional tournament dates and sites will be decided early next week.

Adair is ranked No. 12 in the latest OSSAArankings.com 3A poll and has won 12 of its last 13 games. In those 12 wins, the Lady Warriors have allowed just seven runs on defense and plated 124 runs on offense.
