Coach Kenny Helton's Locust Grove fast-pitch team snapped a 14-game winning streak in emphatic fashion over the weekend, winning four games to take the Tahlequah-Sequoyah Tournament crown.

LG edged Muldrow 4-2 and Vian 7-6 Thursday before stealing a 5-4 win Saturday from Westville. The Lady Pirates (9-21) completed their campaign with a 7-6 triumph over Verdigris.

Locust Grove was set to host No. 5 Fort Gibson Monday and Salina today. The Lady Pirates will hit the road for a double-elimination 4A district tournament at Sequoyah Claremore later in the week.

Salina to make trip to Kansas

Salina's Lady Wildcat softball squad will journey to Kansas for a double-elimination 3A district tournament this week, but not before a trek to Locust Grove today to battle the Lady Pirates.

Salina (12-14) went 2-4 over two days at the Oklahoma Union Tournament in South Coffeyville Thursday and Friday. The Lady 'Cats pummeled South Coffeyville 15-0 and Copan 8-2 but were hit with defeats at the hands of Foyil, Chelsea, Welch and the host Lady Cougars.

Chouteau to entertain Colcord

The Chouteau fast-pitch squad will defend its home field against Colcord in a 2A district tournament this week.

All district tournaments are double-elimination. The top 32 teams from each class will be entered into regional tournaments in October; the eight regional winners in each class will be seeded in the state tournaments later in the month.
