PRYOR, OK —
By now you have either found out you have the greatest fantasy team in mankind or, like most of us, you’re just ready for the season to end. Your team may look like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the win and injury column. The Bucs had their starting running back Doug Martin injured for the year earlier in the season, and Monday night, Martin’s replacement Mike James fractured his left ankle a yard away from the end zone, which will sideline the backup for the rest of the season just as he began to get hot.
But if you’re lucky, your team may mirror the Kansas City Chiefs. Everyone mouthed you after the draft and now you’re the one doing all the trash talking with an undefeated record and on the fast track to a fantasy championship.
This week could make or break your season, but hopefully it will end on the rise thanks to these players.
Quarterback: Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers: Cam Newton and the Panthers are on a roll, especially after a huge win over the San Francisco 49ers last week. After a defensive battle, Newton will get the offense hot again this week at home against the Patriots.
Running back: Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings travel to Seattle this week against, what at one point, was one of the best run defenses in the league. But, the Seahawks are on a slippery slope downward, giving up big games to Dallas' Zac Stacy and Tampa's James the past two weeks. If Stacy and James can run through the Seahawks D, then surely Peterson can put up huge numbers.
Wide receiver: Demaryius Thomas, Denver Broncos: Thomas is coming off a 3-touchdown performance against the Chargers. Quarterback Peyton Manning will look for Thomas in a big match up against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs.
Sleeper: Andre Brown, RB, New York Giants: Andre Brown finally saw the field last week and rushed for 115 yards and a score. He’ll keep on rolling against a Aaron Rodgers-less Green Bay Packers squad.
