Baseball roundup: Adair drops home opener

ADAIR, OK — Adair struggled to find its offense against Class 3A's No. 1 team, Verdigris, Saturday, falling 6-0 in its home debut.

The Cardinals scored four runs in the top of the second inning and kept Adair off the scoreboard for the first time this season.

The Warriors fell to 4-3 on the year and were set for a 6 p.m. first pitch at Commerce Monday.

Fort Gibson roughs up LG

LOCUST GROVE — Locust Grove succumbed to Fort Gibson 14-2 in a home contest Saturday.

The Pirates (2-8) will travel to Fort Gibson for a rematch with the Tigers Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Chouteau, Hulbert rained out

Class 2A's 18th-ranked Chouteau Wildcats were rained out of a Saturday match-up with Hulbert.

The Wildcats (11-1) and Riders were slated for a final-round game at the Okay Tournament. Chouteau won at Hulbert, 13-6, in a regular season game in March.

Chouteau went 2-1 at the Okay Tournament, with wins over Oaks Misson and Braggs.
