SHAWNEE, OK — Pryor took a big hit in the race for a home regional with a 9-2 loss at Shawnee Tuesday.

The Tigers (16-14, 9-3 District 5A-4) managed just one hit, a Spencer Henson double, and allowed the Wolves to gain a strong grip on the top spot in the district.

Pryor trails Shawnee (25-5, 10-1 5A-4) by two games in district, while McAlester sits at 11-2 in 5A-4.

The Tigers split games with the Buffaloes earlier in April. Pryor has games remaining against Shawnee and at Tulsa Edison, while Shawnee must still play two games at Edison and Coweta plus Friday's game at Pryor.

McAlester has one game left, a May 3 date with Shawnee.
