Adair’s Warriors hit the road Thursday facing potential elimination from the postseason. Two losses would end their season. Two wins would give the Warriors the title of district champs.
By the closest of margins, Adair came out the victor, snaring an 8-7 win over host Chelsea in Thursday’s early game and a 5-4 upset in the later contest to keep their season alive.
Adair (14-13) and its trio of seniors — Brady Bradbury, Daylan Root and Jordan Fleming — kept their playoff candle burning and will head to a regional tournament next week. The date and location are yet to be decided.
Chouteau’s baseball season is over, thanks to a pair of losses at Central (Sallisaw) Thursday. The Tigers thwarted the Wildcats 8-0 in Game 1 before run-ruling Chouteau (5-19) in Game 2.
No scores had been reported for Locust Grove’s scheduled district tournament with Jay at press time. The Pirates are 8-18 overall.
