Noble hands Pryor first losses

PRYOR, OK — The Pryor baseball team fell to 4-2 on the season after back-to-back losses at Noble over the weekend.

On Friday, the Tigers fell behind 4-0 after one inning on their way to a 9-1 loss. Losing pitcher Nate Wolfe fell to 1-1 on the season.

The Bears took a 6-2 decision from the Tigers Saturday. Pryor scored two runs in the top of the fifth and held a 2-1 advantage heading into the bottom of the inning before the Bears rattled off four runs to take a 5-2 lead. Noble added a security run in the sixth.

Zack Hammock (1-1) took the loss on the mound.

On Saturday, Class 4A's 14th-ranked Jay handed Locust Grove its fifth loss of the season, a 14-0 count.

The Pirates had a home date with Fort Gibson Monday and will entertain Keys (Park Hill) today at 4:30 p.m.

Locust is now 1-5 on the season, with its lone victory against Chouteau. The Wildcats are set to begin play in the Okay Tournament starting Thursday.

Salina's Wildcats, 3-1 and ranked No. 4 in Class 3A, will head to Ketchum today at 4:30 p.m. for a contest with the Warriors.
