Early kickoff changes homecoming

Associated Press

— An early kickoff changes everything on Homecoming Saturday.

The Oklahoma State University-Iowa State football game will start at 11 a.m. at Boone Pickens Stadium. It will be televised on FX, which is channel 40/240 on Suddenlink.

It also means the Sea of Orange Parade will start to roll down Main Street at 8 a.m. — an hour earlier than normal.

The Cowboy Corral at the Alumni Association will be toned down as well because the marching band and Bullet and the OSU Spirit Rider will be participating in the parade, Carter said.

Cowboy Corral normally starts 3 1/2 hours prior to kickoff. The Alumni Association building will open at 8 a.m., he said.

Homecoming activities add approximately $4 million to Stillwater’s economy, Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Cristy Morrison said.
