Baseball roundup: Adair splits early week games

ADAIR, OK — Adair earned a home-and-home sweep of Nowata with a 14-5 home win Tuesday.

The Warriors (7-7) snapped a three-game losing streak and got back to .500 on the year by dispatching the Ironmen.

Adair fell below .500 for the first time in 2014 with a 6-5 loss to Vinita in extra innings Monday.

The Warriors will be at home Thursday for a date with Chelsea. The first pitch is slated for 4 p.m.

No. 7 Kansas chips Salina

SALINA — Salina and Kansas staved off the rain long enough for the Comets to top the Wildcats, 6-2, in Class 3A action Monday.

Salina (8-8) fell to .500 for the first time since March 27 with the home loss.

The Wildcats, who fell one spot to No. 17 in the latest OSSAArankings.com poll, will begin play at the Claremore Festival Friday against Glendale (Mo.)

Salina's Tuesday game with Class 5A Tahlequah was canceled.

Ridgerunners shut out LG

GROVE — Grove extended the Locust Grove winless streak to six games Tuesday with a 9-0 win.

The depleted Pirates (2-11) have not won since a 10-4 decision against Lincoln Christian and are playing without three injured starters — Brock Taylor, Darryle Trammell and Dylan Hughes.

Locust Grove will host Jay Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
