PRYOR, OK —
Pryor senior Zack Hammock was named a co-pitcher of the year in District 5A-4 this week.
Hammock, who shared the honor with Noble hurler Derek Underwood, compiled a 10-3 record on the season with a remarkable 2.49 ERA. Hammock struck out 56 batters in 73 innings of work.
Fellow senior Casey Holloway was named to the all-district squad at second base. Holloway stole a school-record 42 bases, breaking his own former record of 40, set in his junior season. Holloway also led the team with a .406 batting average.
Two freshmen — catcher Anthony Martinez and third baseman Spencer Henson — were honored with all-district selections. Martinez moved to catcher in the middle of the season from shortstop and racked up a .297 average at the plate.
Henson batted .365 and led the Tigers in homers (6) and RBIs (44).
Sophomore centerfielder Brennon Barth (.352, 34 RBIs) and junior rightfielder Nate Wolfe (.333, 18 RBIs) were selected for outfield spots.
Senior Foster McCollough was named honorable mention at first base. Freshman utilityman Bradley Nixon picked up a mention as well.
