ADAIR — Courtney Condit and Morgan Littlefield scored all 17 of Salina's fourth-quarter points as the Lady Wildcats toppled Keys (Park Hill) 51-43 Saturday, avenging a district title game loss to the Lady Cougars and clinching a berth in an area tournament this weekend.
Salina fell behind 10-6 after eight minutes but used a big second-quarter performance from Kayle Morgan to build a 24-20 lead at the break. Morgan scored 11 of her 13 points before the half.
Condit notched game-highs in points (20) and treys (four) but went just 2-of-7 at the free throw line.
As a team, Salina was 8-for-18 (44 percent) from the stripe.
Condit scored two of her 3-point buckets in the fourth quarter, while Littlefield scored eight of her 13 points in the quarter.
The Salina girls took the workman's route to the 3A area tourney, winning three elimination games in three days, including wins over two higher seeds.
Keys defeated Salina 49-39 in their Feb. 16 district matchup, which dropped the Lady 'Cats into a regional consolation bracket.
The winning streak boosts Salina into an area elimination game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Fort Gibson against the loser of Monday’s Verdigris-Kansas game.
