Sooners, Pokes should collect wins this weekend

Oklahoma should start off Big 12 with a big win over Colorado. Buffaloes are better than last year, but still not very good.

Rhett Bomar probably wanted to face OSU under different circumstances. Bomar leads Sam Houston State against the Pokes, but he doesn’t have OU’s offense around him. Pokes roll.

You wouldn’t think West Virginia and South Florida would be a marquee game, but it is. Both teams could go undefeated and slip into the national championship. West Virginia has the better chance at doing that, but the Bulls defense is tough and they have homefield advantage. Bulls pull the upset.

California and Oregon are considered the top two teams that can challenge USC for the Pac-10 title. There will be points a plenty in this one as both have explosive offenses. Oregon use the homefield advantage to win.

Oregon 45 Cal 42

USC has to face a tough road schedule in the Pac-10, something they have struggled with since becoming a powerhouse. It starts with Washington, who started strong, but sputtered in the last few weeks. USC wins.

USC 41 Washington 21

LSU’s defense finally gave up a touchdown against South Carolina. Things will get back to normal as they face Tulane.

LSU 48 Tulane 0

Auburn was the only team to beat Florida during the Gators’ national title run last year. A year changes everything. The Tigers have already lost to South Florida and Mississippi State.

Florida 38 Auburn 20

Texas has been less than spectacular this year, but they have enough to get past Kansas State.

Texas 20 Kansas State 17

Ohio State’s offense has started rolling, and Minnesota lost to Florida Atlantic. This one is a no-brainer.

OSU 38 Minnesota 7

Wisconsin is another team, like Texas, that is ranked high, but hasn’t been as good as their ranking. It all comes crashing down this week as an upstart Michigan State team upsets them.
