VINITA, OK —
All-state selections Raven Campos and Brady Bradbury of Adair and Jason Couch of Chouteau will headline the 2013 Lake O' the Cherokees All-Star Basketball Games next Thursday, May 9, at Vinita High School.
The games feature outstanding seniors from northeastern Oklahoma high schools, many playing in their final high school game.
Campos and fellow Lady Warrior Anna Crawford will kick off the action at 6:30 p.m. as part of the 10-girl South squad, coached by Salina's Mark Fraley and Jay's Terry Sweeney. Fraley will get to coach senior Lady Wildcat Kayla Morgan one last time.
Joining Campos, Crawford and Morgan are a pair of Locust Grove products, Shelby Hurry and Becky Hendrickson.
Sierra Honeycutt (Kansas), Kiley Warren (Kansas), Ashley Wilkes (Jay), Kindle Spry (Colcord) and Jordan Pike (Colcord) round out the girls' South roster. Colcord's Tristan Sanders was selected as an alternate.
On the boys' side, Bradbury and Couch will be joined by a host of familiar faces. Bradbury's teammate at Adair, Jordan Fleming, and Couch's fellow Wildcat Jordon Shive will grace the court in Vinita in the late game. That tip is set for 8 p.m.
Pryor's Zac Baumert and a pair of Locust Grove Pirates, David Stone and Reed Bryant, will make appearances as well. Clay Wade of Salina was chosen as an alternate, alongside Chase Ballou of Oaks-Mission.
Adair's Travis Cannady will co-coach the South squad with Grant Callison of Ketchum. Callison will coach two of his own, Jeylyn Sharpe and Trae Fairchild, in the event.
Johnny Lewis of Kansas is the 10th man on the South roster.
The North rosters include seniors from Afton, Bluejacket, Commerce, Fairland, Grove, Miami, Quapaw, Vinita and Wyandotte.
