Chouteau rocks Nowata

CHOUTEAU – Chouteau’s Jordan Shive had the hot hand Friday night.

Shive was 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, pouring in 19 points, as the Wildcats scorched the Ironmen 62-45 in front of the home folk at the old C-Block.

For the second straight game, Chouteau used a strong second half to pull away from their opponents.  The Wildcats led by five after the first half, despite a huge discrepancy in fouls (9-3), in favor of Nowata.

However, Chouteau outscored Nowata in the second half, 34-22 to pull away.

Jason Couch was 2-of-2 from three point range in the second half, en route to his 12 points.

Senior Matt Bendure chipped in 8 points from off the bench.

The only blemish on the night was Chouteau’s free throw shooting.  The team only got to the line four times during the game, but went 0-for-4 from the line.

Chouteau will travel to Adair to play their county rival next Tuesday.  Chouteau handed Adair their first loss of the season back in December at the Adair tournament, but Adair is 2-1 over Chouteau this season.
