ADAIR — Adair moves to 10-5 after its second loss of the season to Kansas.

The Comets started strong with a 7-0 lead in the first three minutes.

Adair, led by senior Jordan Fleming, who attacked the rim with aggression, battled back to trail by four at the end of the quarter.

Fleming continued to lead the way with offense in the second, but Kansas won the battle of the boards 15-8 in the half.

Adair headed to the locker room down eight.

The teams swapped blows in the fourth, and Adair trailed 43-39 before the final period.

With five minutes remaining, Adair tied the game but never led. Kansas converted with second-chance points to get the win.

“They gave us chances, but we didn't take advantage of them,” Head Coach Travois Cannady said. “We made them take bad shots, but we didn’t do a goo/d job of blocking out.”

Fleming exploded for 31 points and senior Brady Bradbury dropped eight. Cody Eby had five points, and Brock Martin had two.

Adair faces Inola on the road Saturday.
