Tigers wrap up district play, eye Cards

TULSA, OK — Spencer Henson smacked his fourth home run of the season in Pryor's 8-5 win at Tulsa Edison Saturday in both teams' district finale.

Pryor (18-15, 10-4 District 5A-4) opened an 8-0 lead after six innings, buoyed by Anthony Martinez' strong effort on the hill.

Martinez (3-2) allowed two hits in six innings of work, fanning seven Eagles and walking two.

Dylan Roberson came in in the seventh inning and allowed four runs before Conley Ledoux relieved him. Ledoux retired two Eagles to pick up his first save of the year.

Henson went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs on the day. Teammates Bradley Nixon, Christian Campbell and senior Nate Wolfe each picked up two hits as well.

Ledoux singled in a pair of runs.

Pryor defeated East Central 13-1 in five innings Monday in its final tune-up before traveling to Collinsville for a four-team regional tournament beginning Wednesday.

Pryor, which finished third in District 5A-4, will open play against 5A-3 sixth-seed Skiatook at noon, followed by 5A-4's seven-seed Western Heights and the 5A-3 runner-up Cardinals at 2:30 p.m..

The losers of both games will play an elimination game at 5 p.m., while the winners will play at 7:30 p.m.

Pryor defeated Collinsville twice last season in a regional at Grove to advance to the state tournament.
