Baseball: Claremore blasts Pryor

CLAREMORE, OK — Pryor took a 14-0 defeat at the hands of Claremore Thursday.

The Tigers (11-6) traveled to face the Zebras in a non-district contest before resuming District 5A-3 play Saturday at Durant.

The Lions will throw the first pitch at 1 p.m. Durant will travel to Pryor, which is 5-1 in district play, Tuesday for the second game of the home-and-home.

LG falls at Grand Lake Classic

GROVE — Jay trounced Locust Grove 12-4 in pool play at the Grand Lake Classic in Grove Thursday.

The Pirates (2-10) are on a five-game slide with two pool games left to go.

Locust was slated to take on Holland Hall Thursday and Joplin (Mo.) Friday. No scores were available at press time.

Host Longhorns trump Salina

INOLA — Inola knocked off Salina, 8-4, in an Inola Classic game Thursday.

The Wildcats were set to continue play in the Classic Friday and Saturday.
