TULSA, OK — The Pryor Tiger summer baseball team took a spotless record into Sunday's Oklahoma Shootout final at O'Brien Park in Tulsa, but succumbed to the Colorado Slammers in the title game, 13-12.

The Tigers got big contributions from Anthony Martinez (3 for 4, 2 RBI, double) and Spencer Henson (2 for 3, 2 RBI, double), but the Slammers found a way to out-slug Pryor and get revenge for a tournament-opening loss Friday.

Bradley Nixon hit a pair of singles and punched in a run, while Nason Pace went 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Tiger pitcher Conley Ledoux (3-2) went 1-1 on the weekend against the Slammers.

Pryor finished the season at 15-11-1 and claimed the Three Rivers League Tournament championship in June.

Pryor 5, Colorado Slammers 4

Henson was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, notching a double and driving in a run, to lead the Tigers to a 5-4 win over the Slammers Friday.

Martinez went 2 for 2 and drove in a run. Martinez took the mound in relief of Ledoux and picked up the save, his first of the summer.

Pryor 9, Slammers II 1

Brennon Barth nabbed a trio of singles and drove in two runs to lead the Tigers to victory in a 9-1 laugher over the Colorado Slammers II Saturday.

Caleb Hill (2-1) picked up the win and gave himself some run support, logging a 2-for-2 day at-bat with a double and two RBIs.

Nate Wolfe eked out a pair of singles and Henson doubled in a run in his only at-bat.

The Slammers are based out of an academy in Denver and field several teams.

Pryor 13, Wichita Gray 1

The Tigers' most lopsided win at O'Brien came at the expense of Wichita Gray Saturday, as five Tigers had multi-hit days to pummel their opponents 13-1.

Newcomer Chandler Olson punched in three runs on 2-for-3 hitting. Henson blasted a pair of doubles and a triple and brought home two runs.

Nixon was a perfect 3-for-3, knocking in one run and plating two himself. Hill tripled, and Martinez went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.

A new arm on the varsity pitching staff, Dylan Roberson, improved to 2-1 on the summer.

Pryor 5, Oklahoma Bombers 3

Martinez picked up his team-high fifth win on the mound as Pryor toppled the Oklahoma Bombers 5-3 to advance to the tournament final Sunday.

Martinez and Wolfe each doubled  and Spencer Henson singled in a pair of RBIs to lift Pryor. Christian Campbell went 1 for 2 at the plate.

The Bombers are a summer league team comprised of Jenks and Tulsa Washington players.

Pryor JV finishes 12-6

CLAREMORE — The Pryor junior varsity baseball squad closed its summer at 12-6 by sweeping Claremore and shutting out Bartlesville at a JV summer tournament at Claremore last week.

Zack Castleberry (1-1) picked up the Tiger's first win over the Zebras Monday, an 11-2 blitz.

Roberson (3-0) and the Tigers blasted Claremore for the second game in a row Tuesday, an 18-5 blowout, before facing Bartlesville later in the day.

Brandon Nixon notched his first win of the season against the Bruins, throwing a five-inning one-hitter to keep Bartlesville off the scoreboard. The Tigers won, 11-0.
