Tigers slip Skiatook in regional opener

COLLINSVILLE, OK — Pryor outdueled Skiatook, 7-5, Wednesday in a Class 5A regional tournament game at Collinsville.

The Tigers (19-15) were two wins away from state as of Wednesday afternoon.

The win was Pryor head coach Gerald Osborne’s 500th career win.

Pryor dropped a game to the Bulldogs in the Tiger-Zebra Classic in March but earned a win it they needed it most.

Pryor was set to take on the winner of Wednesday’s Collinsville-Northwest Classen game late Wednesday night in a winners’ bracket game.

Tigers smash East Central, 13-1

PRYOR — Pryor ran over East Central, 13-1, on Senior Night Monday in its final tune-up before a regional tournament at Collinsville.

Senior Nate Wolfe went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and fellow senior Caleb Hill went 1-for-2 in both Tigers’ last games at American Legion Memorial Field.

The Tigers rescheduled their Senior Night opponent, which was originally scheduled to be Collinsville, with East Central after Pryor found out last week it would be traveling to Collinsville for a Class 5A regional.

The replacement Cardinals were no match for the Tigers. Head Osborne emptied the bench in a five-inning contest.

Anthony Martinez went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a triple. Teammates Spencer Henson, Tylor Arnold and Jordan Colbert each picked up singles and Nason Pace and Dylan Roberson doubled.
