PRYOR, OK —
Spencer Henson threw six hitless innings and doubled twice to boost Pryor past Tulsa Edison, 9-0, Tuesday night at American Legion Memorial Field.
The Tigers improved to 9-2 in District 5A-4 play on the same night McAlester handed district leader Shawnee its first district loss of the season to make the race for the district title closer than expected.
Henson fanned nine Edison batters on his way to the win, his fifth of the season against one loss. He was 3-for-4 at the plate, batting in two runs and scoring three times.
Senior right-fielder Nate Wolfe had a 3-for-4 day with a double and two RBIs. Fellow senior Caleb Hill returned to the lineup for the first time this season and went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Designated hitter Tylor Arnold went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Conley Ledoux relieved Henson and allowed two hits and no runs in the seventh inning.
The Tigers (15-10 overall) built an 8-0 lead after three innings.
