PRYOR, OK —
By virtue of their second-place finish in District 5A-3, the Pryor girls soccer team knew it would get a chance to host a first-round playoff game in next week’s Class 5A state soccer tournament.
Now, the Lady Tigers know who will be knocking on the door.
Pryor and Cascia Hall will square off in round one at 6 p.m. Monday at Pryor, with a shot at either Metro Christian or Thomas Edison in round two.
In other first-round games in Pryor’s bracket, MacArthur will travel to Edmond Deer Creek and Chickasha will entertain Heritage Hall.
On the other side of the bracket, Booker T. Washington and Skiatook — the only teams in the state that have beaten Pryor — will tangle at Booker T. Coweta, whom the Lady Tigers beat to clinch second place, will head to Claremore.
Noble will host Northwest Classen and Durant will travel to face Carl Albert in the final first-round game.
The state quarterfinals are scheduled for May 3 at higher-seed sites, meaning should Pryor advance, they would take on either Thomas Edison in Tulsa or fellow 5A-3 squad Metro Christian in Pryor.
The state semifinals will be May 7 at school sites to be determined through several factors. The University of Tulsa will be the host site for the May 10 state final.
