CHELSEA, OK —
Adair opened up a huge halftime lead for the second game in a row to breeze past Chelsea 68-6 Thursday night.
Cody Eby led the way for the No. 7 Warriors (6-1, 4-0 District 2A-7) with 143 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Eby also hauled in a 10-yard touchdown pass from BJ Bradbury, Bradbury's 18th TD toss of the season.
Bradbury also found Austin Kincade on a 51-yard strike and Will Hefner for a 26-yard touchdown in the second quarter to close the door on the Dragons (2-5, 1-3 2A-7).
Reed Harris ran for 75 yards and a pair of scores on his nine carries. Reed and the rest of the Adair starters only played the first half, which saw the Warriors up 47-0 at halftime.
The Adair JV took over in the last two quarters, racking up 21 points on a pair of Ben Woolman scoring runs and a 53-yard scamper by backup quarterback Bo Rogers.
The Adair defense has shut out opposing defenses for the last 10 quarters dating back to the third quarter of the Nowata win in Week 5. Chelsea's only score came on an 85-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter. By that time, Adair had built a 61-6 lead.
After scoring 67 against Chouteau last week, Adair is now the highest-scoring team in Class 2A (47.3 points per game). The Warriors play next at home against 3-4 Oklahoma Union. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday.
