Fantasy Football Forecast: Week 2

PRYOR, OK — Editor’s Note: “Fantasy Football Forecast” is a weekly feature by Times Correspondent and local fantasy football enthusiast Dekota Gregory.

After a week of football we have learned Peyton Manning is still good and how much we’ve missed the NFL. Manning had phenomenal performance to kick off the NFL season. He threw for 462 yards and an NFL-record-tying seven touchdowns against the defending Super Bowl champions. Manning should have another great week, facing off against his brother and the New York Giants. Last week I picked Manning to put up big numbers and he came through for me, although Dez Bryant did not. The Dallas receiver only caught the ball four times for 22 yards while being double-teamed by the Giants' defense. Hopefully this week all my picks will live up to expectations.

Quarterback: Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts: Luck led all NFL quarterbacks in QBR last week and should have another solid performance this week. The opposing Miami Dolphins should allow Luck to put up bigger numbers to go along with that great QBR.

Running Back: LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles: McCoy had a huge game last week against the Redskins. Chip Kelly’s fast-paced offense helps McCoy put up big numbers out of the backfield (31 carries, 184 yards, one touchdown) and he’ll continue his success this week against a weak San Diego defense.

Wide Receiver: Demaryius Thomas, Denver Broncos: Thomas had a blowout game last week, but of course he did, considering Manning was throwing to him. Manning is already on fire and Thomas is Manning’s No. 1 man. Manning will have another great game against the Giants, which means Thomas will too. Thomas will be a must-start all season.

Sleeper: Terrelle Pryor, Quarterback, Oakland Raiders: Pryor had an impressive first start Week 1 against Indianapolis. He should have an even better game this week against a very weak Jacksonville defense. Pryor can make plays with his arm and also with his legs  (217 passing yards, 112 rushing vs. Indianapolis), and he'll get plenty of oppurtunities to be a playmaker this week.
