Volleyball: Salina gets payback

SALINA, OK — Salina's setters and spikers got back to their winning ways over the weekend with a 2-1 showing in the Lynn Shrum Memorial Tournament.

Salina improved to 2-0 on the season with an opening round win over Hulbert. The Lady 'Cats whipped the Lady Riders in two sets. Later, Westville dropped Salina for the second time this season, a 2-1 win to go with its 3-0 win Aug. 29.

In the last match of Saturday's tournament, SHS took three of four sets from Wagoner to claim some revenge for a 3-1 loss Aug. 20.

Salina (6-10) plays next at home against Inola Monday. Salina is 1-0 against the Lady Longhorns. The opening serve is set for 6 p.m.
