ADAIR, OK —
The Adair Warrior football squad will begin the defense of its District 2A-7 title Friday, Sept. 6, on the road against Kellyville.
Adair finished the 2012 campaign with a perfect 10-0 regular season and a 6-0 mark against district foes and reached the state quarterfinals.
Kellyville is the first of two 3A schools the Warriors will tangle with in 2013. The second, Westville, will oppose Adair on senior night Nov. 1.
On Sept. 13, head coach Mark Lippe's team will begin a three-game home stand, its longest of the season, against Wyandotte. Adair defeated the Bears twice last season, in Week 2 (54-22) and in the opening round of the Class 2A state playoffs (46-16).
Reigning District 2A-2 champion OKC Millwood will invade on Sept. 20, followed by Caney Valley in the District 2A-7 opener Sept. 27, which will also serve as the Warriors' homecoming.
Adair will travel to Nowata Oct. 4 before returning home to host Mayes County rival Chouteau Oct. 11. The Warriors blasted the Wildcats 61-9 in last season's district matchup.
Adair will head to Chelsea Thursday, Oct. 17, before hosting district foe Oklahoma Union Oct. 25. The Warriors will close the regular season and district schedule with a Nov. 8 away date at Pawhuska.
All kickoffs are slated for 7:30 p.m.
