Bradbury, Couch named to all-state squads

ADAIR, OK — The accolades just keep pouring in for Adair guard Brady Bradbury.

Bradbury, who was named MVP of the Northeast 6 Conference in March, was listed as one of two Mayes County players named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association East All-State small-school squad.

"You don't get a chance to coach all-staters very often," Adair head coach Travis Cannady said. "He's well deserving of it. It's a great capstone to his career here."

Bradbury, a 5-foot-10 senior, averaged 22.6 points in his last year for the Warriors, leading them to a 20-11 record and an appearance in an area consolation final.

Bradbury, who also plays baseball and football, is currently still deciding where he will attend school in the fall.

Senior Chouteau guard Jason Couch, who averaged 11.9 points in 2012-13, racked up an all-state selection as well. Couch, coached by Travis Wheeler, was named to the Northeast 6 all-conference team alongside Bradbury.

Couch and the Wildcats caught fire in the last half of the season, upsetting Jeylyn Sharpe and Ketchum in the 2A state quarterfinals before falling to Latta in the state semis.

Sharpe, a 6-foot-5 forward, and Latta forward Trent Storts were named to the all-state squad. Evan Anderson (Dale), Stoney Newton (Okemah), Kagen Castlebury (Glencoe), Zac Self (Varnum), Jeremiah Winney (Weleetka) and Jacob Richardson (Porter) rounded out the 10-man all-state small-school roster.

Adair senior forward Jordan Fleming and Chouteau senior guard Jordon Shive were named to the all-region team. Fleming averaged 17 points per game this year, while Shive averaged 12.9.
