The Adair Warriors continued their winning ways, moving to 8-7 on the year after a productive weekend hosting the Adair Tournament.
The Warriors needed nine innings to take care of Commerce April 1 but blasted the Tigers 10-0 in Thursday's first round.
In Friday's semifinals, Adair edged 2A's No. 11 squad Dewey 8-7 to qualify for Saturday's final. The Warriors winning streak was snapped in the title game, a 9-1 loss to 4A No. 13 Dewey.
Adair is in the midst of an 8-3 tear after starting the year 0-3.
Chouteau (3-12) had a 1-2 weekend at Adair, dropping a 16-2 contest to Dewey before grabbing a 6-4 win over Afton Saturday. Commerce blanked the Wildcats, 10-0, in a later game Saturday.
Salina is licking its wounds after a few unlucky breaks against top-tier teams at the Inola Tournament over the weekend.
The 3A No. 5 Wildcats (11-6) dropped their final two games by a total of two runs — 8-6 to 4A's top-ranked and undefeated Catoosa on Friday and 1-0 to 5A foe Tulsa Memorial in Saturday's third round.
Salina, the smallest school in the tourney, took down 4A Vinita 3-1 in Thursday's opening round.
Locust Grove also went 1-2 at Inola, falling 1-0 to Wagoner and 11-3 to Spiro. The Pirates toppled Vinita 4-3 for their lone Inola Tournament victory.
Locust, now 6-12, was set for a game in Stilwell at 4:30 p.m. Monday and will host Grove at 4:30 p.m. today.
Chouteau and Porter were set to tangle Monday at 4:30. Chouteau will take on Oklahoma Union at home at 5 p.m. today.
Salina will entertain Adair today at 5 p.m.
