Berryhill outlasts Salina

PRYOR, OK — The Salina Wildcats, ranked second in Class 3A, took Class 4A's top-ranked Berryhill to 10 innings Thursday afternoon but couldn't pull out the win, dropping a 4-3 heartbreaker in pool play of the Oologah-Talala Invitational.

Salina nearly pulled out the win, despite giving up up 10 hits and allowing a season-worst 8 errors.

The fatigued Wildcats then turned around and played 4A's No. 11 Cascia Hall, where the Commandoes popped weary Salina with an 8-0 defeat.

Salina (9-4) was set to take on Claremore Sequoyah Friday in their final pool game before Saturday's final at Oologah High School.

Adair's Warriors blasted Nowata in a Thursday home doubleheader, taking the early game 8-1 and the nightcap 6-1.

Adair (5-5), at .500 for the first time this season, extended its season-best winning streak to four games heading into Friday's contest with Caney Valley.
