Soccer: Last-second goal propels Tigers to final

TULSA, OK — Colton Smith broke a 1-1 tie with no time on the clock to give Pryor a 2-1 win over Nathan Hale in a Tulsa Edison Green and White Tournament semifinal Friday.

Corey Horton gave the Tigers (4-2) a 1-0 lead heading into halftime before the Rangers knotted the score at one apiece in the second half.

Smith's shot launched Pryor into the program's first-ever tournament final appearance Saturday against Edison.

The Tigers fell in the final, 3-0, but have already doubled their win total from last season's campaign.

In the girls' bracket, Pryor felled 5A foe Tulsa East Central, 1-0, Saturday to earn the tournament consolation title.

Whitney Jackson scored the game’s only goal.

The Tigers and Tigerettes (4-2) each posted 2-1 records at the tournament and will host Claremore at home tonight. The boys kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. with the girls to follow at 8 p.m.
