Baseball roundup: Tigers pounce on Bulldogs in Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Pryor traveled 756 miles for a showdown against fellow Green Country school Jay Thursday.

There was almost as wide of a gap on the field, as the Tigers blasted the Bulldogs 12-0 in a final-round game at the annual Aggie Classic in Pensacola.

Sophomore hurler Spencer Henson (2-1) struck out 12 Bulldogs in five innings of work.

Pryor (7-3) went 2-2 at the Classic and won its final-round game for the second straight year, but Pryor head coach Gerald Osborne left Florida Tuesday due to a death in his family.

The Tigers fell to Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic 8-4 Wednesday. Senior right-hander Nate Wolfe (1-1) absorbed his first loss of the year.

Navarre (Fla.) won the tournament Thursday night.

Adair seeks Ketchum title

KETCHUM — Adair moved to 2-0 on the season and at the Ketchum Hardball Classic Thursday.

The Warriors knocked off Sallisaw Central 9-0 and were set to play the Ketchum junior varsity at 4 p.m. Friday. No score was available at press time.

Adair went 2-2 at the Classic in 2013, including wins over Quapaw and Fairland. Adair scored three runs in its last two at-bats to top Fairland, 6-4, in this year's tournament.

Chouteau, Commerce canceled

Chouteau's home game against Commerce, slated for Thursday, was canceled according to ChouteauSports.com.

The Wildcats (7-0) are set to begin play at the Okay Tournament Monday.
