Baseball roundup: Spiro outlasts Salina in shootout

SPIRO, OK — Class 3A's No. 15 Spiro and No. 10 Salina combined for 32 runs in an offensive explosion Tuesday with Spiro coming out on top, 20-12.

The Wildcats (1-1) took their first loss of the season, while Spiro improved to 4-1.

Salina is slated to host No. 19 Tahlequah Sequoyah and Westville Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Both contests are set to begin at 4:30 p.m.

Oologah dumps Locust Grove, 6-0

LOCUST GROVE — Oologah stampeded over Locust Grove Monday, 6-0, in a showdown of 4A teams at Locust Grove.

The No. 12 Mustangs were the fourth ranked team the Pirates (1-4) endured through their first five games.

LG will travel to Hilldale Friday for a 4:30 p.m. first pitch.

Adair tops Fairland at Ketchum tourney

KETCHUM — Adair opened its season with a 6-4 win over Class 2A Fairland Tuesday in the Ketchum Hardball Classic.

Adair (1-0) will take on Central Sallisaw today at noon and the Ketchum JV Friday at 4 p.m.
