Pryor girls enter poll at No. 5

PRYOR, OK — The Pryor girls soccer team ascended to a top-five ranking in the initial Class 5A poll Monday.

Pryor sandwiched a pair of 2-0 shutouts of 4A No. 9 Wagoner and Rogers (Ark.) around a 6-1 loss to No. 3 Coweta Monday.

Edmond-Deer Creek leads the poll with 174 points and 12 of 14 first-place votes.

The Tiger boys are ranked 14th in the first poll following their 2-1 season-opening win against Wagoner and an upset of No. 8 Coweta in a shootout Monday.

Both squads will take two weeks off before traveling to Tulsa Edison for a tournament March 28-29.
