TULSA, OK — Bradley Nixon went 4-for-4, second-baseman Casey Holloway stole four bases and freshman third-baseman Spencer Henson swatted his sixth home run of the season to help the Pryor Tigers pummel district foe Nathan Hale 16-1 in five innings Monday.

The Tigers (19-9, 8-3 district) pushed their season-best win streak to seven games.

Pryor is locked in a heated race for third place in the district with Tulsa Memorial and McAlester. Rain forced Tuesday's scheduled matchup with McAlester to be postponed to Saturday.

Designated hitter Nixon hit a double and three singles on his way to a two-RBI day. Holloway, a senior, smashed a double and bumped his stolen base mark to 30 on the year, within spitting distance of breaking his own school record (40) set last season.

Holloway wasn't the only diamond thief in the Tiger dugout Monday. Fellow seniors Zack Hammock and Foster McCollough each swiped bases, as did centerfielder Brennon Barth and Nixon.

Anthony Martinez improved to 4-2 on the hill while batting 2-for-3 and scoring a team-high four runs. Conley Ledoux relieved Martinez after three innings. Ledoux and Martinez each fanned a quartet of Rangers.

McCollough went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Henson batted in a team-best four runs.

Pryor, ranked ninth in Class 5A, will hit the road for a two-game trip beginning with their biggest game of the year to date Thursday at No. 8 McAlester. The Tigers and Buffaloes share identical 8-3 records in the district.

After Thursday's game at McAlester, the Tigers will stay in the southeast quadrant of the state to take on Durant Friday. The Tigers dropped the Lions 11-1 in their April 6 meeting at American Legion Memorial Field.

The Tigers will wrap up district play against McAlester Saturday at noon. Pryor's game against Bartlesville set for the same day has been canceled.

Pryor will recognize members of its 1983 and 2003 state semifinal teams during the McAlester game Saturday. The festivities will include a home run derby following the game. All former Tigers are encouraged to attend.
