Chouteau splits with Nowata

CHOUTEAU, OK — Isaac Carter exploded for 22 points, Arlis Alsip added 21 and Chouteau cruised past Nowata, 73-55, in action Friday at Chouteau High School.

The win improves the Wildcats to 11-5, including wins in five of their last six games.

Alsip drained three 3-pointers en route to his blackjack and Carter went 6-of-8 from the free-throw line in the win.

Chouteau fell behind early, as the Ironmen took a 13-11 advantage into the second quarter. However, Alsip and Carter combined for 13 points in the second to help Chouteau claim a lead it would hold the rest of the way.

Freshman phenom Champ Bridges netted 14 points for the Wildcats.

Choteau topped Chelsea, 53-43, on the road Thursday night.

Ladycats still hunting second win

CHOUTEAU — Josie Hale and Reva Smith combined for 26 points to help Nowata knock off Chouteau, 51-42, Friday night in the old C-Block.

Allison Grossman scored eight points to lead the Ladycats (1-14), which are still seeking their second win of the season after a 53-51 win against Okay in their season opener.
