Pirates tame Wardogs, 74-59

LG sweeps Miami

MIAMI, OK — Tyler Rowland helped jolt Locust Grove (13-2) to a 74-59 road victory over Miami (8-6) Friday night.

Rowland put up 18 points and has scored more than fifteen points in the No. 9 Pirates' last three games. Zach Robison also posted a solid night with 18 points, while Taylor Halpain and Colton Pike each added 14 apiece.

Miami's Bean Bussey led all scorers with 21 and Alex Linton scored 16.  

The Pirates will travel to Keys Tuesday night to play the Cougars. Locust handled Keys in their last meeting, 83-41, at Pirate Arena. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. Tuesday, following the girls' action at 6:30.

Davis, LG thunder past Lady Wardogs

MIAMI — The Locust Grove Lady Pirates defeated Miami, 47-34, on the road Friday night.

The Class 4A No. 9 Lady Pirates' offensive weapon, Madison Davis, led the team with 13 points against the Wardogs (6-10). Davis averages over 13 points a game, helping lead Locust Grove to its 12-3 record.

Sophomore Karson Maple posted 11 points and junior Kennedy Sokoloski added another 10. Miami's Malarie Chenoweth led all scorers with 16.
