LG ruins Catoosa homecoming

CATOOSA, OK — Class 4A's No. 9 Locust Grove Lady Pirates embarrassed Catoosa, 64-28, on the Lady Indians’ homecoming night Tuesday.

Locust Grove (11-3) relied on its defense, which forced 17 steals and 27 turnovers. Junior Morgan Littlebear and Madison Davis led the "steal curtain" with four takeaways apiece. The Lady Indians never reached double-digits in a period and 13 of their points came from the line on 20 attempts.

Davis led the offensive surge with 16 points, which led all scorers. Senior Sydnie Pierce scored 12 points in the first half to outscore the entire Catoosa squad and ended the night with 14.

Senior Bailey Holman added another 13 points thanks to three makes from beyond the arc.

Fine, Wadlow fuel Pirates' win

CATOOSA — The Locust Grove boys handled Catoosa on the road, 62-28, Tuesday night to improve to 12-2.

Sophomore Mason Fine led the ninth-ranked Pirates with 14 points and junior Colton Pike posted 10.

Locust is still without sophomore forward Jason Pirtle due to a shoulder injury, but junior Kevin Wadlow helped fill the void Tuesday night. Wadlow came off the bench to score 10 points and added a block to the stat sheet.

The Pirates will travel to Miami Friday night to challenge the Wardogs. Tip-off set for 6:30 p.m.
