CHOUTEAU, OK — Adair JV trips Chouteau

CHOUTEAU — The Adair junior varsity topped Chouteau, 67-35, in early action Saturday.

Olivia Ratcliff led the Lady Warriors with 18 points while Chloe Maritz added 13 more. Chouteau was led by sophomore Allison Grossman, who poured in 12.  Junior Karlee Alberty added another nine points and also had three offensive boards in the loss.

Although trailing 10-6 after the first quarter, the Ladycats played scrappy defense, keeping them in the game and only trailing by three at the half, 23-20. Chouteau was 4-of-20 from the field in the first half and went 8-of-19 from the charity stripe.

However, the second half belonged to Adair. The Lady Warriors outscored Chouteau 44-15 in the second half, shooting 63 percent from the field during that stretch. Chouteau’s turnovers were too much to overcome as Adair cruised to the win.

The Adair varsity was forced to drop two games thanks to its inclusion in the Tournament of Champions. The Lady Warriors blasted Class 4A No. 16 Inola Friday, 62-42.
