Locust Grove trips Catoosa

LOCUST GROVE, OK — The No. 10 Locust Grove Lady Pirates trounced Catoosa 71-32 Friday night in a homecoming match-up at Pirate Arena.

The Locust Grove defense forced 22 steals, six by junior Morgan Littlebear.

Junior Madison Davis led the Lady Pirates offensively with 21 points to lead all scorers. Fellow junior Kennedy Sokoloski posted the team’s first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Homecoming Queen Bailey Holman also accounted for nine points and five assists.

Locust Grove will take on Class 5A No. 5 Collinsville Monday at 4:15 to begin Pryor Invitational Tournament play.

Pirates breeze to homecoming win

LOCUST GROVE — Locust Grove continues to play Fine basketball behind sophomore guard Mason Fine.

Fine led the Pirates with 24 points in a 77-52 homecoming blitz over Catoosa at Pirate Arena Friday night.

Fine, the Pirate's quarterback in the fall, shot 66 percent from beyond the arc (6-of-9) and was also perfect from the stripe.

Fellow sophomore Zack Robinson also posted solid numbers with 12 points and four assists. Junior Colton Pike scored 18 while pulling in six rebounds.

Sophomore Zach Bailey came off the bench to put up 10 points, helping fill the void left by sophomore Jason Pirtle. Pirtle will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.

The Pirates will begin Pryor Invitational Tournament play Monday at 5:45 p.m. against Collinsville.
