PRYOR, OK —
The Pryor basketball teams will host the 2014 Pryor Invitational Tournament beginning Monday at the Burdick Center.
The tournament will feature six teams from northeast Oklahoma, including three from Mayes County.
Adair and Locust Grove will join the Tigers in the pool-style tournament, which looks to be the first Mayes County tournament to start as scheduled. The Warriors and Pirates hosted weather-delayed tournaments in December and January, respectively.
Two pools of three teams each will play a round-robin before the final round on Saturday. Pryor, Berryhill and Vinita will play in Pool A, while Locust Grove, Adair and Collinsville will round out Pool B.
Locust Grove will kick off the tournament Monday with games against Collinsville. The girls will tip first at 4:15 p.m. followed by the boys at 5:45.
Adair will open play Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. (girls) and 5:45 (boys) against Collinsville, followed by the Pryor girls and boys against Vinita at 7:15 and 8:45 p.m., respectively.
On Friday, Pryor and Berryhill will play an early double-header at 4:15 (girls) and 5:45 p.m. (boys).
The only scheduled all-county games will be the Friday nightcap, as 3A No. 1 Adair and 4A No. 10 Locust Grove will battle in the girls' bracket at 7:15 p.m. The 3A No. 14 Adair boys will challenge 4A No. 10 Locust Grove at 8:45 p.m.
