Youth wrestlers claim silver at OKWA state

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — The Pryor Elementary Wrestling Team wrapped up a successful 2013-14 season with seven medals at the Oklahoma Kids Wrestling Association State Tournament in Oklahoma City.

Forty-two Pryor wrestlers competed at the OKWA Northeast regional, of which 21 qualified for the state tournament.

The Division 5 (15-and-under) wrestlers brought home a second-place trophy from the event.

The state medalists included Blake Raglin (second place in Division 2 at 90 pounds), Christian Campbell (second place in Division 5 at 162 pounds), Spencer McClelland (third place in Division 1 at 40 pounds), Daniel Chase (third place in Division 5 at 150 pounds), Nevin Henson (fourth place in Division 5 at 285 pounds), Brunk Gray (fifth place in Division 2 at 83 pounds) and Logan Hammock (fifth place in Division 5 at 126 pounds).

Head coach Brett Gray was named the OKWA Northeast Coach of the Year at the state tournament. Gray and Chris Underwood coached the elementary squad.
