County golfers qualify for state

DUNCAN, OK — The Pryor girls team teed off Wednesday at the Duncan Golf and Tennis Club in the girls 5A state golf tournament.

The Tiger girls qualified for the state tournament with a sixth-place finish at a 5A regional at McAlester April 29. Pryor totaled a 417 to earn a spot at Duncan in the two-day tournament.

Pryor tees off in the second round at 10:40 a.m.

Four Mayes County individuals qualified for the state tournament after strong showings at regionals May 5.

Pryor's David Guinn and Kyle Ramsay earned solo spots in the boys 5A tournament May 12-13 at Lawton's Fort Sill Golf Club.

Guinn and Ramsay qualified for state with low scores at McAlester May 5.

Guinn will tee off at 8 a.m., followed by Ramsey at 8:10. Both will start at the 10th hole.

From Locust Grove, Josh McFarland and Daniel Henson each earned tee times at the 4A state tournament at Lake Hefner North Golf Course in Oklahoma City May 12-13.

The two scored low at Peoria Ridge Golf Course in Miami May 5 to qualify for individual spots at the state tourney.

McFarland is slated for an 8 a.m. start and Henson will hit his first shot at 8:10 a.m. Both will start on the 10th tee.
