The Pryor  and Adair High school swim teams competed Dec. 13, at the Jenks quadrangular swim meet against Jenks, Ft. Gibson and Bixby.

“All the kids swam pretty well,” said Head Coach Brian Smith.  “But we had some swimmers who just didn't do as well as I thought they were going to do and some who really did outstanding. Among those was Dustin Samford.”

Samford swam the 200 freestyle and took second with a time of 2:13.10.

Tyler Newby took seventh in 2:18.64, and Jordan Moore took 11th in 2:42.53.

For Adair, Lauren Newby swam the 50 Free in 36.46, a 1.3 second-improvement, while Ethan Markle swam a 25.78 in the 50 free.

Newby took 4.9 seconds off her previous best in the 100 free, swimming a 1:25.46.

Josh Ogg swam the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly with a time of 2:57.25. Alex Smith won with a time of 58.74.

Wesley Sutton  qualified in the 100 fly with a time of 1:04.15.

Skyler Derhammer improved by 3.1 seconds  in the 500 free by swimming a 6:54.29.

“We had some kids who would have helped us last night that were unable to compete and it showed,” Smith said. “We also have had alot of the swimmers who have been sick, which affected their performance last night. But all in all it a good performance.”

The next meets  are in Bartlesville Jan. 8, the Hornet Invitational at Booker T. Washington  Jan 10,  Pryor Quad  Jan. 17 and Ft. Gibson  Jan. 29.
