Chouteau splits with Caney Valley

CHOUTEAU, OK — Freshman Champ Bridges poured in 21 points to help Chouteau bump Caney Valley, 73-57, on homecoming night Friday.

The Wildcats (7-4) opened up a 35-26 lead at the half and nudged it to 16 by the start of the fourth quarter.

Bridges' blackjack was a game-high total, and teammate Trenton Pierce added a dozen points. Arlis Alsip joined the duo in double figures with 10.

The Wildcats will Travel to Hulbert Tuesday for a date with the Riders. The girls will tip at 6:30 p.m. and the boys will follow at 8 p.m.



First quarter stumbles doom Ladycats

CHOUTEAU — Caney Valley leaped to a 19-4 lead after one quarter and Chouteau was never able to recover, dropping a 63-54 decision at home Friday.

Chouteau (1-10) blazed back in the second quarter, closing the gap to a manageable 26-22 at halftime. The Lady Trojans stretched the lead back to double digits in the third quarter, however, and Chouteau could not provide pressure in the fourth.

Allison Grossman's 11 points paced the Ladycats. Shelby Snodgrass added 10 and Karlee Alberty had nine.
