Tuesday hoops: Locust Grove keeps rolling

MUSKOGEE, OK — Tyler Rowland and Zach Robinson each supplied 15 points to help Locust Grove pound Hilldale, 67-56, on the road Tuesday.

The Pirates (8-1) opened up a 23-7 lead after one quarter and never trailed the rest of the contest.

The win is the fourth in a row for the Class 4A No. 10 Pirates, who played their first game after winning the Bank of Locust Grove Invitational Saturday on their home floor.

The Pirates completed a season sweep of the Hornets after a 50-43 home win to start the season Dec. 14.

In the early game, the Lady Pirates fought off the Lady Hornets in a defensive battle, 41-38.

Locust Grove (7-2) and Hilldale combined for just 43 points in the first three quarters, which saw the Lady Pirates take a 22-21 lead into the high-scoring fourth quarter.

Led by Bailey Holman's game-high 14 points, LG held off the Lady Hornets down the stretch for its second win over Hilldale this season.

Pryor falls at Skiatook

The Pryor girls fell to 0-9 and 0-5 in the MLC after a 58-30 loss at Skiatook in the early game Tuesday.
