— Locust Grove’s record dropped below .500 for the first time this season Friday after losing to Lincoln Christian 55-21 on the road.

The Pirates started the game by stopping Lincoln Christian on Locust Grove’s  four yard line.

Locust Grove marched down field to score on a 12-yard touchdown pass from senior Colton Witt to freshman wide receiver Jason Pirtle.

After a failed conversion, the Bulldogs answered in their next possession to tie the game at 6-6.

Lincoln Christian controlled the rest of the half and led 48-12 at halftime.

The Pirates scored first in the second half with a safety.

Lincoln Christian scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Locust Grove scored once more via a touchdown run by freshman Vance Wilson.

Locust Grove Head Coach Matt Hennesy remains optimistic about the future of his team.

“You can’t expect a two-win team to change overnight,”  Hennesy said.
