PRYOR, OK —
Pryor clinched the Tiger Summer Classic with a 6-2 win over Collinsville Saturday at American Legion Memorial Field.
The Tigers went undefeated in their pool and knocked off the Cardinals in Saturday's title game behind strong defense and an early flurry of offense.
Pryor piled up four runs in the bottom of the first inning after Conley Ledoux surrendered Collinsville's first run in the top of the frame.
Ledoux, who pitched five innings for Pryor, continued to flourish in the summer, improving to 3-0 in a six-hit outing. The senior earned six punch-outs and held the Cards to one run until the sixth inning.
Anthony Martinez and Brennon Barth each went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Gaige Mendivil and Drew McCollough each batted in runs.
Mendivil earned his first save of the summer, retiring the final two Cardinals in the top of the seventh.
Pryor will host the Three Rivers Tournament this weekend. The Tigers will open Wednesday against Claremore Sequoyah at 7:30 p.m.
Coweta will take on Pryor Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Sapulpa will oppose the Tigers Friday, also at 7:30 p.m. Final round games will begin Saturday at 11 a.m.
